Group maven is a small passion project – a new group purchasing site for people living in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Group purchasing involves a collective approach, where we join together to buy items in bulk. At Group Maven, we focus on bringing local and Canadian-made brands to you at affordable prices. By joining forces, we support the community’s economy and your desire for top-notch brands at lower prices.

What is group purchasing?
Group purchasing is where several individuals join together to buy products in bulk.
Group maven negotiates lower prices and deals from producers by connecting them to a group of people interested in their products.
Everyone’s orders are put in together as one bulk order, shipped to a single location, and then made ready for pickup. This way, we benefit from lower prices and reduced shipping costs.
What kinds of products can i purchase?
We focus on items made in Canada. We want to support our local Vancouver Island, Provincial, and National economy. This is our primary focus at Group Maven.
How does a group purchasing website work?
Group Maven negotiates with producers and suppliers on behalf of our members and then offers discounted prices on products we love.
We collect orders from customers, and then submit a single group order with everyone’s choices.
Items are shipped to us and then we separate the orders and get them ready for you come pick up from our Nanaimo location.
How much does it cost?
Our group orders are free to join!
You pay for the products you buy. Sometimes, there will be shipping fees and/or processing fees. These details will be found with the product information when you are making a purchase. Typically, the more we by – the better the deal, and the lower the fees. So share us with your friends!
How do I pay for items I purchase?
Right now in our beta testing we only have e-transfer or cash as an option for payment.
We are working on bringing more payment options, however these may increase the fees attached to group purchases. Stay tuned!
I make or sell products - why should I sign up?
Reaching new customers can be hard. At Group Maven, we help connect businesses to their target market. By offering discounts to our growing community, you will gain access to new customers, helping you build a loyal customer base.
